About the event

The dictionary defines self-care as a practice of taking actions to preserve or improve one’s own health. The process of taking an active role in protecting one’s own well-being and happiness in particular during periods of stress. This implies mostly reacting when one’s emotional balance is uncertain. It is like firefighting, reacting later.
Our intention in this session includes:
o Harvesting our collective understanding of self-care, and the various practices embraced, the community perceptions on the same and how they impact us; acknowledging individual wisdom on the same. I do acknowledge there is no strategy or tool which is 100% effective address all of ones worries and concerns which lead to stressful situations,
o Practicing various self – care tools for balance and ease
o Building support systems for emotional wellness
Are you curious, or eager to learn what self-care means to other people? Here is an invitation to share your own wisdom or confusion on the same. To explore how to find balance between caring for self and others with more ease.
The structure of the session includes:
• Check in round,
• Sharing individual wisdom on self-care and how it impacts us in a round,
• In break out rooms sharing in pairs community perceptions on self-care and how to be present to what is without guilt,
• Harvesting doable practices for healing or connecting with self in both times of celebration and mourning.
