Full Title: The Sustainable Activist: Communication for Authenticity and Solidarity Across our Differences. This workshop is based on the work of Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication.
Conflicts, misunderstandings and our “inner demons/stories” rob us of so much of the joy and power of our efforts for a more generous, just and peaceful world. This training will introduce the possibilities and practices of “nonviolent communication” into our self-care as activists and our capacity to be authentic, courageous and even welcoming in the face of others’ full humanity (in all its/their annoying and hopeful forms).
Trainer: Louisa Davis, PhD, MDiv, former campus/parish minister, antiracist/peace organizer, and professor of comparative ethics and world religions. A CNVC certified trainer candidate, Louisa is offering this workshop as a trial run of her certification offering in August and to introduce her coming book/community/blog, TheSustainableActivist.org.
